In 2009, the Broadway musical Billy Elliott made headlines by winning ten Tonys. Cast in the lead as Billy were Kiril Kulish, David Alvarez and Trent Kowalik (alternating).

At the time, and for the years preceding, both David and Kiril were students training at SDAB. Our pride in the caliber of their success, commitment and unwavering dedication to the discipline of dance is as potent today as it was when they lifted their record-breaking Tonys in victory.
