CURRICULUM
SDAB is a Vaganova based school committed to preserving the purity of Russian classicism. Every pre-professional ballet instructor is an SDAB alumni, trained by its founders, and in turn the instructors impart the same unwavering commitment to high caliber technique in their instruction. Every Academy student has performance opportunities with SDAB.
Every Academy student must enroll in SDAB, and pay a one time registration fee of $55.00. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Classes are year around, and enrollment happens on an ongoing basis. throughout the year.
Dancers trained at San Diego Academy of Ballet have secured professional contracts at the most prestigious ballet companies in the world.

For those too young to join Pre-Ballet, 'Grown Up & Me' is a class where grown ups and their little ones can take an entertaining and light cardio class together. Brimming with imagination play, and foundational ballet curriculum, this is a transition class in to the Academy, and primer for Pre-Ballet.
Parent participation is optional, but we ask you accompany your child in the class. No one judges, and enrollment is ongoing; many parents bring younger siblings of the dancers in to the room, either in a stroller, or strapped to their chest, it's all good, happy to welcome non-disruptive families in to the studio.

Ballet class for absolute beginners totally unfamiliar with ballet curriculum. It's OK if this is their first class, or they are revisiting ballet after time off. The basic positions, alignment, and technique are instilled in all students.

For more experienced beginner ballet students, and children who already have the familiarity of the terminology and positions, but are not quite ready for intermediate technique. Ballet 2 builds on Ballet 1 curriculum with more structure and complexity. With an assessment, absolute beginners are able to join this class on a trial basis provided they are able to make progress in a reasonable amount of time.

A stimulating & exhilarating class for boys simply striving to save the day.
This forty five minute class harnesses a curriculum in standard superhero skills, taught by retired American Ballet Theater dancer Marshall Whiteley, himself an SDAB alumni.
While there is an array of various skills and abilities that contribute to superheroism; SDAB's curriculum caters to greatly increasing the likelihood that those enrolled will triumph in life's victories, both big and small.
